Democratic Florida Rep. Jared Moskowitz argued Tuesday that House lawmakers should consider a vote to censure Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib over her refusal to accept US and Israeli findings concluding that Israel wasn’t responsible for the bombing of a hospital in Gaza. Tlaib, a member of the far-left “Squad” of House lawmakers, on Monday called for an “independent investigation” into last week’s bombing at the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza City, alleging that the US and Israel both have “long, documented histories of misleading the public about wars and war crimes.” She has on at least two previous occasions blamed Israel for the bombing, citing claims made by the Hamas terrorist group. “Look, Congress is unified in its support of Israel,” Moskowitz told Fox News “Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany. “I continue to be disappointed in members of Congress who are not willing to listen to US intelligence and listen to the Biden administration, who have said Israel had nothing to do with the issue that happened in the parking lot of the hospital.”Both the White House and the Israeli government have determined that the explosion was caused by a misfired Islamic Jihad rocket from the Palestinian side of the border. Islamic Jihad is a smaller, more radical Palestinian terrorist group that often works with Hamas. The Israeli government has published intercepted phone calls from Gaza and other evidence that it says shows its military wasn’t behind the bombing. Israeli officials also said several dozen people lost their lives in the blast, rather than the 500 or so who Hamas reported perished.“There’s no proof of that,” Moskowitz, who is Jewish, said of the 500 person death toll cited by media outlets, including the New York Times, in the immediate aftermath of the blast.“Any member of Congress who continues to trust Hamas’s information over US information is obviously deeply concerning,” he added. When pressed by McEnany about possibly censuring Tlaib for propagating “terrorist talking points,” Moskowitz indicated that once a new House speaker is in place, a censure should be considered. “Oh, listen, I think once we get a House speaker here, I think that censure resolution will come to the floor. And I do think it’s something that everyone should consider,” Moskowitz said.“This is about US intelligence. This is about US information. This is about not willing to trust the Biden administration and US intelligence, but instead continuing to pretend like the Ministry of Health out of Gaza is nothing other than a terrorist organization telling people what we want to hear,” he added. “We just heard the leader of Hamas talking about genocide. I mean, good God, it is propaganda to the 10th degree. And people have to stop buying it and they have to listen to the facts.” Investigations by the Wall Street Journal, CNN and the Associated Press have found evidence that the missile came from the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization — and not Israel — based on television footage they said appeared to show a misfired Palestinian rocket in the air above the hospital. The New York Times, which initially pinned the bombing on Israel, citing Hamas, walked back its reporting on Monday, admitting it “relied too heavily” on information from the terror group.
