Cheryl Hines blasts Biden for not granting Secret Service protection to RFK Jr.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s wife Cheryl Hines took President Biden to task this week over his administration’s repeated refusal to provide her husband with Secret Service protection.

“It feels like a political strategy,” Hines told “TMZ Live” Friday. “It’s disappointing, to say the very least, that the administration is not giving Bobby protection.”

The 58-year-old actress said the decision showed Team Biden was not acknowledging her husband as a serious candidate.

Still, she added, she has “respect for President Biden and the administration.”

Kennedy, a one-time primary opponent of President Biden, is now running as a third-party candidate for president in the 2024 election.

On Wednesday, an intruder broke into Kennedy’s Los Angeles home — twice — and was apprehended by Kennedy’s private security detail.

“Yesterday an intruder climbed the fence at my home and was arrested,” Kennedy tweeted Thursday. “After being released from police custody later in the day, he immediately returned to my home and was arrested again.” 

In September, an armed man impersonating a US Marshall was arrested at a Kennedy event in Los Angeles.

“They know what’s happening and they know what has been happening. I can’t believe that they’re not responding,” Hines said of the administration.

Kennedy’s father — former New York Sen. Robert F. Kennedy — and uncle — former President John F. Kennedy — were both assassinated while in office.

“Over the last several months, the campaign submitted formal requests for Secret Service protection, yet U.S. Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas has refused to approve the protection,” the Kennedy Jr. campaign said in a statement.

“Every presidential administration for 55 years has afforded early protection to candidates who requested it. The Biden administration is the sole outlier,” the campaign asserted.
